First Annual Friends of NWVA Benefit!

Building on the excitement from this past season, NWVA will hold its first major fundraising event on Sunday, May 31, 2026, 4:30-7:30pm at Nordia House, 8800 SW Oleson Road in Portland. Cost is $75 per person.

Help us continue to present concerts with innovative programming, develop and expand our educational outreach programs AND provide opportunities for young people in need to sing-tuition free!

Enjoy a pleasant afternoon with inspirational music, fine dining and great company!

❋ An afternoon of uplifting entertainment

Friends of NWVA benefit ticket-holders will enjoy inspiring solo and ensemble performances by our professional choral mentors, collegiate scholars and high school interns, experiencing first-hand the impact of our innovative mentorship program! This diverse program will not disappoint, with exquisite vocal music ranging from classical art song and aria to musical theater, old standards and more!

❋ Fine dining, Scandinavian style

While guests are entertained they will enjoy a smörgåsbord of Scandinavian delicacies by BroderPDX, including their infamous smoked salmon deviled eggs, Swedish meatballs, decadent charcuterie board and more! Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. Beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee will be served throughout and don’t forget to save room for dessert!

❋ Learn more about our innovative programs

Throughout the evening guests will learn more about our new and innovative model and the impact we are having on the Portland Metro choral community. Hear first-hand from our students about how the opportunity has influenced their education and shaped future goals. Find out about our plans for growth and development driven by the core belief that every single student, regardless of their socioeconomic status, deserves access to a robust vocal music education.

❋ Find out how you can help

With your help we can continue to fund these innovative programs and broaden our impact throughout the Portland Metro Area. Every dollar we make through a paddle raise and raffle is tax deductible and will directly benefit students in need. Prizes include season tickets, NWVA singers performing at your party, summer Choral Academy registrations, free voice lessons by some of the region’s finest vocal professionals and more!

*We are looking for sponsorships! If your company or employer are interested in partnering with NWVA to make this event possible, please reach out to Executive Director, Samuel Barbara at samuel.barbara@nwvocalarts.org.
